A large portion of my work is made up of commissioned portraits. Each is an original piece of art made especially for my client.
Initial Consultation
I begin any potential project with an open discussion, answering any questions a client may have and explaining the portrait process further. If the client feels that I am the artist for them, then we proceed with a deposit payment, contract, and discussion of photo reference.
Reference Photos
I work from printed or digital photos. I prefer to photograph your pet myself but if this is not possible I will consider photos provided by the client [All photos are returned].
Completion Times
Drawing times differ according to size and complexity, but most pieces can be finished within a 2-4 week time frame. Work-in-Progress (WIP) photos can be sent to the client via text or email.
Delivery
Whenever possible, I try to deliver drawings personally. When shipping is required, the drawing will be sent via Priority Mail with delivery in 3 business days. Shipping cost is not included in the commission pricing.
Framing
Portraits are not delivered framed, but professional framing can easily be arranged upon request.
Rates and Payment
I will provide a quote once I have reviewed available photos and we have agreed on size, medium and paper type. For custom work an hourly rate will be applied. A non-refundable 50% deposit is due upon placing a commission with the balance payable upon delivery/shipment.
